Work Description
- Food Preparation: Assist in preparing ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, chopping vegetables, and measuring ingredients.
- Stock Management: Help in receiving, unpacking, and organizing food supplies and kitchen equipment, ensuring proper storage.
- Assisting Chefs: Provide support to chefs and cooks by fetching ingredients, stirring pots, and performing basic cooking tasks.
- Waste Disposal: Properly dispose of kitchen waste and recycling, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to health regulations.
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain kitchen appliances and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Budget Monitoring: Assist in monitoring budgets by comparing actual expenditures against budgeted amounts and reporting variances.
- Health and Safety: Follow health and safety guidelines, including wearing appropriate protective gear and maintaining hygiene standards.
- Customer Service: Occasionally assist in plating and serving food during peak times or special events.
- Inventory Control: Assist in monitoring inventory levels and informing supervisors of low stock or potential shortages.
- Ad Hoc Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by kitchen supervisors, such as setting up workstations and ensuring efficient workflow.
